Andrew is Chief Financial Officer and Executive Finance Director, GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals and Vice President Finance, South Asia. 

Since his arrival in India, Andrew has focussed on returning the business to growth and meeting profit targets. He also revised the structure of the finance team towards the TOM model and worked to strengthen the compliance framework. Andrew has reviewed three acquisition opportunities for the company and is also in the process of disposing of discontinued brands. He has developed a solution with Global CSR teams on the local financing of Albendazole for the eradication of Lymphatic Filariasis. Andrew is an active member of the local Board and Audit Committee, as well as a member of the local Pharmaceutical Association for Finance and Taxation. He won an award in July 2015 as one of India’s most influential CFOs.

Andrew was previously Head of Corporate Development, Europe and International Finance, for ViiV Healthcare in London.  Andrew assisted with the carve-out of HIV from GSK and Pfizer and setting up the European and International Operations. Andrew was a key contributor towards the design of the new European model and led the European pricing committee. Andrew also led the co-promotion agreement of Tivicay with Shionogi in Japan, designed the Tivicay agreement with the Medicine Patent Pool, and led projects for the set-up of contract manufacturing collaborations in Russia (Binnopharm) and China (Desano Pharmaceuticals).  

Andrew first joined GSK in 1999, holding a number of roles of increasing importance, including North Andes Finance Director based in Venezuela, Corporate Development Director and Southern & Eastern European Finance Director. In 2007, he joined Gilead Sciences as International Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, before rejoining the GSK Group in 2010 in the ViiV Healthcare organisation.

Andrew has a BSc (Hons) in Economics and Accountancy from Loughborough University. He is also a Fellowship Chartered Accountant of the ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales), having qualified with Price Waterhouse in London.
