Ultimately, it’s up to you to embark on the career that is right for you. On our website, you’ll find insights from our current and recent graduates, as well as detailed outlines of what you can expect from each programme.
The requirements depend on the country and the career path that you’re applying to. You’ll find this information on the role profile when the role is open.
If you have extenuating circumstances that have affected your grades, please let us know as we do take these into account.
You need to have real ambition. To possess genuine interest in your chosen career path and a self-motivated, proactive approach. You’ll need to be a clear, effective communicator who can work across boundaries and quickly build a rapport with a wide range of people.
Just as important is the ability to adapt to change and stay focused when the pressure is on. While you’ll have the drive and confidence to trust your own judgement, you’ll also be a team player who thrives while working with others and can develop the ability to influence people. Furthermore, you’ll need an analytical mind and a talent for multi-tasking. To prioritise your time and resources.
We aim to create an inclusive workplace to attract and retain the most talented people from all backgrounds and cultures. We focus on developing an inclusive organisation where all our colleagues feel engaged and know their work makes an important contribution. An inclusive environment welcomes different knowledge, perspectives, experiences and working styles from across the global population. This not only enhances individual creativity and innovation, it makes good business sense. Learn more about inclusion and diversity at GSK here.
You’ll be based in the country you apply to, but high-performing graduates may also be able to work in other countries (however this is not guaranteed and is managed on a programme-by-programme basis).
Every career path is structured differently, to give you the best possible understanding of that specific area of the organisation. It also provides an insight into GSK’s overall business. Look at the page for the career path you are interested in, and you’ll find details of the rotations and what to expect.
You will build breadth into your career by taking rotations within your business unit and possibly by moving into a different business area. Please see the details on the specific career path page for more information.
It’s sometimes possible to work in a different country for one of your rotations. However, this is entirely based on business need and there is no guarantee that you will be able to work abroad.
We offer you a rich variety of training, development, mentoring and opportunities to help boost your career. Training is based on the 70/20/10 approach: 70% on-the-job training, 20% learning through mentoring, coaching and feedback, and 10% via formal training courses.
We offer a competitive salary and a Total Reward package which is designed to invest in you and your development.
When you join GSK, in addition to a competitive salary, you’ll also benefit from our Total Reward package. It’s designed to invest in your development, help you save for the future, and boost your health and well-being. Rewards and benefits vary depending on the geographic area where you are working.
We encourage you to offer your time and skills to help others through our annual Orange Day that allows all employees to volunteer for a good cause. Once you have worked in the business for at least three years, our PULSE programme also offers the opportunity for skills-based volunteering.
The role you take on will be a joint decision by your programme manager and your line manager. They will take into consideration the opportunities available, business needs, your performance, and your career aspirations.
Application dates vary in different countries.
You can only apply for one career path a year. So, take a look to see what suits you best. You can also apply for other roles at GSK that are not part of the Future Leaders Programme.
